The Frugal Guide to キレる and おこる?

If you get angry at someone, what kind of words in Japanese do you usually use? Is that おこる? What about キレる? Have you experienced キレる? instead of おこる. In this time, let me introduce how to correctly use both キレる and おこる.

キレる

Go ape / Go nuts / Snap

きれる can be used the meaning that someone can’t stand something anymore and can’t control his/her feelings, unlike おこる. By going ape, someone might use violence against someone or broke something. And ぶちギレる means to get ape more than キレる. Furthermore, ぎゃくギレ means someone snaps back at someone who goes ape.

Example
(My mam went ape because I came back home at 11 p.m. yesterday.) (Lúc 11h tối hôm qua tôi về nhà, mẹ tôi có thể giết tôi đấy!)

おこ

Get angry

As you may already know how to use おこる, but おこる means that people get angry at someone who they don’t like or something that made people angry. Unlike キレる, using おこる, someone can still control his/her feelings. And you can say カンカンにおこる which means “really got mad” which means before キレる instead of おこる.

Example
(Mr. Kida got really angry at Tanaka-kun.)
(Don’t do that someone gets angry at you!)
たつや
