They Are Absolutely Different

Apparently, たのみ and たより are the same meaning because they are the same “Kanji”, however, the meaning of these is absolutely different. Let me introduce the difference between them and how to correctly use them today!

たのみ(tanomi)

Ask a favor / 拜托 / 부탁 / Nhờ cậy

たのみ” means “Ask a favor” and the basic way to use it is “わたしは___(ひと)にたのごとをする。(I ask someone for a favor.)” such as “わたし友達ともだちたのごとをする。(I ask my friend for a favor.)” and “___をたのむ” means “to order ___”. (I order pizza delivery.)”, etc.

Example
(Can I ask you a favor?)
(I feel sorry for asking you to do something like this.)
(I would like to order room service.) (Tôi muốn đặt dịch vụ phòng.)
(Why don’t you order pizza delivery?)

たより(tayori)

Dependable / 信赖 / 의지 / Phụ thuộc

たより(になる)” means “Dependable” and which has been used for people who are dependable. The basic way to use it is “あなたはたよりになる。(You’re dependable.)”. And another way to use it “たよりにする” which means “rely on”. (I rely on you.)”. So, that’s the difference between “たのみ” and “たより”.

Example
(You’re dependable!) (Tatsuya đúng là đáng tin cậy ha!)
(You’re pretty unreliable, aren’t you? haha) 하하) (Yuka là người hơi bất cẩn nhỉ? (cười))
(I don’t wanna rely on my friends.)
(I’m always here for you.)
