[wp-svg-icons icon=”arrow-right-2″ wrap=”span”] Natural disaster / 天灾 / 재난 / Thiên tai

天災てんさい” means “Natural disaster” and which has been used as the meaning of “a natural event such as a flood, earthquake, or tsunami that kills or injures a lot of people”. The basic way to use it “天災てんさい発生はっせいする(Natural disaster occurs.)”, etc. “天災てんさい” is pretty formal, so native speakers often use 自然災害しぜんさいがい” instead of “天災てんさい“. “天災てんさい(Natural disaster)” is of the “災害さいがい(disasters)”. Furthermore, native speakers often say “災害さいがい(disasters)” as the meaning of “天災てんさい(Natural disaster)”. Lastly, “天災てんさい” is not often used in daily conversations than “災害さいがい(disasters)”.

[wp-svg-icons icon=”checkmrk-circle” wrap=”i”] 災害さいがい (saigai)

[wp-svg-icons icon=”arrow-right-2″ wrap=”span”] Disaster / 灾难 / 재해 / Thảm họa

災害さいがい” means “Disaster” and which has been used as the meaning of “an event causing great harm, damage, or suffering that includes natural disaster as well”. The basic way to use it “災害さいがい発生はっせいする(The disaster occurs.)”, etc. “災害さいがい” is not formal, so normally it is used in daily conversations. The tips for using “災害さいがい” is that it is a “man-made disaster called(人災じんさい) + 天災てんさい(natural disaster)”. So, “災害さいがい” has a much wider meaning than “天災てんさい“.
