“zenbu” and “subete”：There Is A Slight Difference

Did you know that the nuance of using 全部ぜんぶ (zenbu) and 全すべて (subete)? If you don’t know about it, don’t worry about it. You would be clear about it after reading this. Let me introduce the way to correctly use them today!

全部ぜんぶ (zenbu)

All / Everything

“全部ぜんぶ (zenbu)” means “All and Everything” and which has been often used as natural and informal in conversation. However, that is not slang, so you could use it in all situations. But, in a business situation, you might want to use 全すべて to your boss.

Everything / All

“全すべて (subete)” means “Everything and All” and has been used as polite meaning than 全部ぜんぶ. So, when you are talking to your boss, that would be better to use 全すべて than 全部ぜんぶ.
