The Perfect Guide To Use “kireru” and “okoru”?
If you get angry at someone, what kind of words in Japanese do you usually use? Is that “怒る(okoru)”? What about “キレる(kireru)”? Have you experienced キレる? instead of 怒る. In this time, let me introduce how to correctly use both キレる and 怒る.
キレる (kireru)
Go ape / Go nuts / Snap
“キレる(kireru)” can be used the meaning that someone can’t stand something anymore and can’t control his/her feelings, unlike 怒る. By going ape, someone might use violence against someone or broke something. And “ぶちギレる(buchi gireru)” means to get ape more than キレる. Furthermore, “逆ギレ(gyaku gire)” means someone snaps back at someone who goes ape.

怒る (okoru)
Get angry
As you may already know how to use 怒る(okoru), but 怒る means that people get angry at someone who they don’t like or something that made people angry. Unlike キレる, using 怒る, someone can still control his/her feelings. And you can say カンカンに怒る which means “really got mad” which means before キレる instead of 怒る.
