nadameru” vs. “nagusameru“:Which is Used When People Crying?

The basic ways to use them are that “わたしは___をなぐさめる。(I comfort ___.)”, etc For instance, “わたし友達ともだちをなぐさめる。(I comfort my friend.)”, “わたしいもうとをなぐさめる。(I comfort my sister.)”, “わたし子供こどもをなぐさめる。(I comfort a child.)”, etc. The tips for using it are that “なぐさめる” is used for “PEOPLE ARE SAD OR CRY”, unlike “なだめる”.
