It was sweet. / 很甜。 / 달았습니다. / Ngọt.

When you want to describe “a food had a taste similar to that of sugar”, you would be able to use “あまかったです。(amakatta desu)” which means “It was sweet.”. Everybody could use this in daily conversations as polite and formal and “あまかったよ。(amakatta yo)” is used as casual.
